Abuja metro line commences commercial train services on Monday

APRNEWS - The Abuja Rail Mass Transit on Monday commenced commercial train services on the Airport-Idu-Central Area metro line, Mr Okey Ugwuanyi, Airport Station Manager, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ugwuanyi said the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), had been running free services since the inauguration of the metro line by President Muhammadu Buhari in July.

Nigeria's senate president Bukola Saraki declares presidential bid

APRNEWS - Nigeria’s Senate President Bukola Saraki said on Thursday he will run for president in 2019, making him the highest profile contender to incumbent Muhammadu Buhari announced so far.

Saraki, Nigeria’s third most senior political official, made the announcement at a political event, where he was addressing young people in the capital Abuja.

APRNEWS - President Muhammadu Buhari, has urged Nigerians to rise above personal, group, sectarian and other interests, and instead promote harmony and tolerance.

The president’s message, delivered as he celebrated the global Muslim holiday of Eid-ul Adha in his home town of Daura in Katsina State, about 500km north of the capital, Abuja.
