Agradaa’s Pastor husband speaks after his wife denounced priesthood

Pastor Oduro Koranteng, the husband of now former priestess, Patricia Asiedu has spoken after his wife announced she has stopped being a priestess to propagate the kingdom of God.

Speaking at a press conference addressed by his wife on Monday, Pastor Koranteng who described the development as monumental, he said it has taken him five years of constant efforts to have finally gotten his wife to renounce her activities.

South Africa's unemployment rate rises to 32.5% in fourth quarter 2020

South Africa’s unemployment rate jumped to a new record high of 32.5% in the fourth quarter of 2020 from 30.8% in the third quarter, the statistics agency said on Tuesday.

Statistics South Africa put the number of unemployed at 7.2 million people in the fourth quarter, compared to 6.5 million in the previous three months.

Congo River: At least 60 drowned after boat capsizes

At least 60 people have drowned after a boat capsized in the Democratic Republic of Congo, officials say.

 

Some 300 people have been rescued but as many as 200 others are unaccounted for following the accident on the Congo River, officials added.

Locals said the boat hit a rock east of the capital, Kinshasa, while travelling at night, which is prohibited.

Iraq rocket attack hits U.S. forces, killing contractor

A rocket attack on U.S.-led forces in northern Iraq on Monday killed a civilian contractor and injured a U.S. service member, the U.S. coalition in Iraq said, in the deadliest such attack in almost a year.

The barrage of rockets hit in and near a military air base occupied by the U.S.-led coalition at Erbil International Airport. Two U.S. officials said the contractor who was killed was not American. The coalition said five other contractors were hurt, without elaborating.

ET Mensah gets 100% votes in Council of State elections

Former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency Enoch Teye Mensah has won the slot to be the representative of the Greater Accra Region on the Council of State.

A long-time Youth and Sports Minister in the 90s, ET Mensah, polled 58 out of 58 votes to win the elections on Friday, February 12.

He beat two other contenders to win the elections, held across the country in accordance with Paragraph (C) of Clause 2 of Article 89 of the 1992 Constitution.

The first of 100 cases on his docket was that of Tonya Raynor, a 64-year-old who owed $2,790 in back rent and fees on an apartment on the city’s east side, a swath of vacant storefronts and boarded-up properties.
