Russia marks five years since Crimea annexation with concerts, flash mobs

APRNEWS - Russian President Vladimir Putin is travelling to Crimea on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of Moscow's annexation of the Black Sea peninsula from Ukraine, condemned by the West but celebrated by most Russians.

Putin will take part in celebrations in the contested territory, where he is also due to launch a new power station, the Kremlin said.

APRNEWS - Ukraine and Russia’s relations are hanging by a thin thread. The Ukrainian president has urged NATO to deploy naval ships to the Sea of Azov, a proposal that has been sharply criticized by Russia as a provocation that could further inflame tensions between the two countries.
