US opens new military headquarters in South Korea

APRNEWS - US forces in South Korea opened their new headquarters Friday, on what they called Washington’s biggest overseas base, just weeks after President Donald Trump said he wanted to bring the troops home.

The US and South Korea are treaty allies and for decades US Forces Korea (USFK) have been headquartered in Yongsan, in the centre of Seoul and prime real estate.

USA : US team arrives in North Korea to prepare for summit

REUTERS- US President Donald Trump said on Sunday a US team had arrived in North Korea to prepare for a proposed summit between him and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which Trump pulled out of last week before reconsidering.

It was the latest twist in a week of diplomatic ups and downs over the prospects for the unprecedented meeting.
