APRNEWS - Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé met with Gabonese President Ali Bongo in Libreville, Gabon on Tuesday, May 7 to exchange views on “terrorist” threats that have begun spreading across African countries.

APRNEWS - Gabon’s President Ali Bongo suffered a stroke which led to his hospitalization, Vice President Pierre Claver Maganga Moussavou confirmed over the weekend.

The VP whiles delivering a speech in Franceville, south of the country, said Bongo had suffered a cerebrovascular accident or CVA, commonly known as a stroke.

APRNEWS - Gabonese say they want ‘proof’ about the health status of President Ali Bongo who is said to be recuperating in a Riyadh hospital for fatigue.

Last Sunday, Gabonese presidential spokesman, Ike Ngouoni in a video to Libreville ,said President Bongo was doing well after his admission at a Riyadh hospital late October.

APRNEWS - The International Criminal Court will not open a formal investigation into claims of post-election violence following the disputed 2016 presidential election, the ICC’s chief prosecutor said Friday.

AFP - Gabon opposition leader Jean Ping was on Saturday prevented by the security forces from taking a flight to France over a judicial matter, he told AFP.

"I was supposed to travel this evening but the security forces prevented me," the former African Union chief told AFP.
