Understanding lassa fever

APRNEWS - Lassa fever is an illness caused by Lassa virus, a single-stranded RNA hemorrhagic fever virus from the family Arenaviridae.

It is an acute febrile viral illness lasting one to four weeks, and it occurs in West Africa and some areas beyond. The incubation period for Lassa fever is variable, from six days to three weeks.

Relation of Buhari's military aide kidnapped in hometown, Daura

APRNEWS - Media outlets in Nigeria are reporting the kidnap of the father-in-law of President Buhari’s aide-de-camp. The incident is said to have happened on Wednesday evening in Daura.

The reports said gunmen kidnapped Musa Umar, a tarditional leader in the area. His son-in-law happens to be Colonel Mohammed Abubakar, Buhari’s military aide.
