Nearly 240 million children with disabilities around the world, according to UNICEF

The number of children with disabilities worldwide is estimated at nearly 240 million, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Wednesday.

This new report highlights the extent of deprivation suffered by children with disabilities - one in 10 children in the world - according to several well-being indicators relating in particular to health, education and protection.

DRC children deeply affected by Ebola outbreak - UNICEF

APRNEWS - The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Tuesday said children are particularly affected by the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ebola treatment centres in Beni and Mangina are currently treating six children infected with the virus or are suspected cases. Two children have already died from the disease.
