APRNEWS - At least 32 civilians were killed and ten are missing following an attack in central Mali, believed to have been carried out by traditional hunters, local officials said on Sunday.

REUTERS - Syrian state media said on Monday that U.S.-led coalition aircraft bombed an army position in the east, causing deaths and injuries, but the U.S. military denied it was responsible.

The attack took place in al-Harra, southeast of the town of Albu Kamal, state media said citing a military source. There were no immediate details on casualties.

AFRICANEWS - Burkina Faso security forces killed three suspected terrorists and arrested one more on Tuesday morning in an operation on the outskirts of the capital Ouagadougou, state television reported.

One gendarme was killed in the fighting in the Rayongo neighbourhood, while five people, including one civilian, were injured, the report said.

AFRICANEWS - Egypt has officially responded to a diplomatic protest by Sudan over the broadcast of a TV series that the latter complained portrayed Egyptian terrorists living in its territory.

Sudan’s foreign minister had on Saturday issued a statement saying the TV series titled ‘Abu Omar al-Masry’ insinuated that Egyptian militants can find refuge in Sudan.

AFP - Turkish police on Monday detained four Iraqis suspected of planning an attack on the US embassy in Ankara, media reported.

The group were held during anti-terror raids in the Black Sea province of Samsun, Hurriyet daily said, after the US mission in the capital announced it would close Monday because of a "security threat".

AFP - The Turkish army on Monday said 31 soldiers had been killed since Ankara launched its offensive against a Kurdish militia in Syria last month.
